S_A, I found a few old BBC smileys in a skip and uploaded them, but you have to use : : rather than < >.

If you use Go Advanced, rather than Quick Reply, you'll see the ones that are available - and, of course, , plus a full range of old Christmas smileys that weren't being used (see under [More]).

Glad to see you - people had been getting worried!
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Hi there S_A. Glad to see you here. Been a torrid few days with iced-up downpipes causing major flooding in my study. Had to move everything out, mop up the water and install an oil heater on full blast to dry the place out. To top it all I caught a chill while I was on the roof chipping away at the ice. Feeling vaguely human today, though, and dreading the nex snowfall. Buns not amused at being evacuated for the duration.

                That's right!

Morning Sal! Did you have any luck slaying the icicle beasts? Maybe you should ring up that "handy" gardener of yours and have him spoon out the gutters like Mary said. Here's hoping it's just a leaf backup and not some weird problem with your insulation! See? I always make things more complicated than they need to be.

                Cheers, ~E.

Morning Euda and others. Icicles have gone, just dripping guttering. About 10inches of foam stuff in loft, gift of grateful heating company just before they put prices upagain.
Very thick mist, local greengrocer seems to havepacked up for good,or bad as far asIcansee. Sorry about spacing

                    Morning salymap
You seem to have a thaw - we had a very hard frost last night but now the sun is coming through - so our massive icicles may go too! Is Nap3Coz free?

More snow in Glasgow this morning

We had a slight thaw on Friday afternoon, then back to freezing at the weekend; result, treacherous pavements. Now we've got fresh snow on top! I hope the A&E depts are well staffed.
