Every weather forecast I read predicts something different. It's -5 here already and I'm having an early night. Keep warm.

Apologies for lowering the tone, Anna, but after a lovely evening of Dvorak and Schumann, and a few beers, I love your addition to the British world of rhyming slang. I had better duck.

Raining here which fits my mood. The able-bodied are streaming past the house rehearsing [?] for a marathon apparently.

Just waved goodbye to an old friend. Sad day

Well our temperatures here shot up 3 degrees Celsius between 12 noon and 3 pm. It almost felt mild!

It is clearly warmer but there is still ice on my bucket and I've been getting rid of it (strictly for the birds, you understand) so no cheers yet.

(I do have a washbasin somewhere... now where did I put that, I wonder?)

                Feeble grin.

There is still snow on my front lawn, swept to the side by kind neighbour ages ago. Also bird bath in back garden is still frozen.

                      What warmer weather?

Actually got to the supermarket without wearing my ancient woolly hat. Long may it last - the warmer weather, not my hat.

Currently in Salisbury at the sign of the White Hart and looking forward to Old Sarum if the rain holds off. Much warmer already.

A (Scottish) house guest last night insisted on flinging the bedroom patio door open and I think it remained open all night...

And as I cycled in this morning, the sun actually made me feel a little too warm!

                              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

And I can explain why we are receiving MILD air from the north-west.
