Chris - word of advice. When adverse conditions prevail, turn up In Tune and Sean Fafferty. Somehow your troubles melt away ..........

Suddenly, hell & high water don't seem so bad when Rafferty's faffing and gushing, Anna?

After a stunning sunny day in London, the rain's just starting and the wind is getting up...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Mine would, too - but only after I'd done the right thing with the on/off switch (as in flung it, along with what it's attached to, across the Welsh Black, Welsh, Black, mountains)...

It's the sort of night when one can only be immensely thankful for a roof over one's head and a warm bed. Cold and windy and pouring with rain out...

Poor naked wretches, whereso'er you are,
That bide the pelting of this pitiless storm,
How shall your houseless heads and unfed sides,
Your loop'd and window'd raggedness, defend you
From seasons such as these? O, I have ta'en
                              Too little care of this!

.... 'tis a naughty night to swim in.

Funny, I was doing a Lear under the pressure jet myself, not up on the heath but even tucked up in my pit.

Had to rise three times to empty the bucket under the boiler - can't be good.

Slow, black crow black weather indeed and time to break out the Armagnac - same bottle as last year.
