What an amazing day for this late in the year: people out enjoying the sun on the South Bank this afternoon - not an overcoat nor cloud in the sky to be seen. Didn't even need to don my gloves for the return cycle home.

Thick mist and 4degrees at the moment here. Heating even switched itself on in the night. Brrr.

Daybreak and rather grey - a Puritan Sunday, perhaps - chapel folk in their go-to-meeting gear...

Quite foggy last night, making driving rather challenging! Seems to be rather cloudy withg sunny periods today!

Sunny, light breeze mild temps but weather going downhill this evening into tomorrow, with rain on Wednesday. This month it's been if it's raining it must be Wednesday! Good weather is forecast for our national turkey fest (Thanksgiving) on Thursday. The following day, of course, is the national shopping frenzy known as "Black Friday" during which milions of Christmas shoppers invade shopping malls througout the land in the hopes of finding the perfect pressie for their nearest and dearest.

Yes better here today too marthe. However, tomorrow I have a longish walk in the morning and thick fog is forecast. I do hope 'they' are wrong.

Have a lovely Thanksgiving, by the way.

Well I was looking forward to a nice stroll in the mild autumn sunshine predicted in place of yesterday's gloom on the lunchtime news. In fact it has been dank and dreary all afternoon, and will soon of course be dark. Thank heavens for some lively debate on these boards!

...the dreaded cross country run when i was a schoolboy ... did you stop at any of the excellent hostelries on the way?

grey damp and passably mild in the middle today ...

... ah, the Rutland, the Doves, (and several others... ) - not this time, Calum - it was early in the morning - but of an evening I have been known to quaff on the Hammersmiffian Terraces....

It's raining now. Today was dead calm (calm before storm) and cloudy. I got the rest of the leaves in my front garden raked up and can now spend time cleaning and cooking for Thanksgiving on Thursday. Wednesday will be a washout so plenty of time for Turkey Day (Thanksgiving) prep.

Haven't seen the annual "President pardons the Turkey" photo yet...but I do hope you have an enjoyable day.

Greenilex, the Pardoned Turkey will no doubt appear in tomorrow's New York Times. Many thanks for your good wishes. One of the many things for which I'm grateful this year is the friendliness I've found on FoR3. Thank you to my "Stormy Weather" (and elsewhere on the boards) friends.

Many thanks Mahlerei! When I raise my glass during tomorrow's dinnner, I'll be thinking of all of you across the Atlantic.
