Bone of contention, that. My son was allowed to have the pooch on the strict understanding he walked her every day. He's been pretty good, but is less enthusiastic now that the weather's changed. As I don't live at the house - complicated story - I don't get to walk her much.
Sounds like Sky will be hoping for a good fall of snow so that the younger man gets to realise that sledging might be fun

I had to put the lights on before 3pm to see the keyboard. Is it usually as dark as this at this time or are my eyes worse than I thought they were? Oh well hospital check up for them soon. May mean cataract
      ops though...............

Saly, it's not just your eyes, it's been one of those dank, drear, dull days when the mist and cloud hasn't once cleared the top of the trees and it's been cold and, thoroughly miserable!

Two friends have recently had cataracts done, salymap and both were delighted by the result and the surprisingly straightforward process. Putting eyedrops in at regular and frequent intervals appeared to be the most tedious part. So fear ye not !

Sunny and warmish here today. Clocks went back on Sun AM so afternoons are shorter now. Dark before 5 but sunrise earlier in the morning! I hope all is well with your eyes saly. We're supposed to be having one of those dark, gloomy days on Thursday.

My lodger suggested I put the lights on to paint at 2.45pm today, salymap. It has been gloomy lately (yesterday, Sunday, was much brighter though).

Quite dark here again this morning, but still warm and not too wet at present.

I have a daylight-simulating lamp and will start using it again now, probably at tea-time for an hour or two.

Must admit to liking the glittery shop windows...

Slightly lighter sky in the South East. Long may it last. Still puddles on the pavement though, from rain last night.

Bright here too, saly. Thank heavens (literally!) for 3 mild days expected to come: enough time for gloss paint to dry while windows are kept open, just a fraction. (Don't tell anyone!!!)

We have that round yellow thing up in the sky, at the moment! What's it called? :)

A new sort of cheese I think. Can't be the sun surely.

It was a marvellous evening down here in Wilts - the big fat moon was shining like a spoon (to quote B. Dylan - I'll be Your Baby Tonight). Superb conditions for a floodlit mixed tennis match against a neighbouring village, Aldbourne. It was totally quiet and there was not a breath of wind.

Alas, our big fat moon has been obscured by rain and fog tonight. We've enjoyed the almost full moon for the past several evenings but tonight's a real washout. Saly: the grownups always told us that the moon was made of cream cheese! Moonlit tennis...now that's an idea!
