I was at the Royal College of Music yesterday afternoon when the heavens opened and the drains in the basement passages created liitle fountains. There were several small floods in the basement and Britten Theatre. The steps outside the Albert Hall became a spectacular waterfall for about ten minutes.

Feels autumnal (or fallish as we'd say here) with cool temps, gloomy sky, rain. It's almost time to look for sweaters and jackets; put away shorts and sundresses. The smell of fallen leaves is quite strong. It's been a rather melancholy day.

I see wars, etc are taking over the MBs. I hope we are not losing sight of our little problems and discussions on weather, holidays, gardens, food and other topics.
For the record, autumn is galloping on apace. Today, murky, dull but dry atm.
Can't make up my mind whether to listen/watch the Last Night or not. They always bored me and it is on record that I walked out on at least one, also a First Night which got out of hand.

I have never been a Last Night fan - but are you going to tell us more about the first night that "got out of hand"? Too much Bruckner?
