Must be our rain has crossed the Atlantic! Sunny days here but more rain forecast for tomorrow and Saturday. I hope your gutters are holding up, saly!

Yes marthe the guttering is there so far and the weather looks better if a touch cool for August.

I have a front hedge and every morning the dear sweet foxes leave a lot of pieces they get from rubbish bins and deposit with me because the garden is fairly sheltered. Shall now attempt to pick it all up, cursing quietly to myself.

Glad to hear that your guttering is intact saly. Foxes! Haven't seen a fox aound here in ages, though we do have pesky raccoons and skunks. Anton, our sunny day has done exactly the same. We have clouds and a promise of rain tomorrow. I only hope that the weather is bright and sunny on Sunday for my sister's wedding near Boston, MA.

Quite sultry as I made my way to Sainsburys just now for the weekly food stash. Looks like staying dry today, judging by cloud formations. Off shortly to my probably only Prom this year, the Chamber Prom at Casdogan Hall; so better put on my best behaviour! Taking a cycle cape - just in case, or, rather, rucksack!

Oh sorry to hear that am51. The Red Arrows used to practise/rehearse their routines over this way although I haven't seen them in recent years. I do hope the pilot survived the crash.

Thanks saly! I got caught in the rain, didn't I! At least I had me Dad's old dischevelled Pack-a-Mac with me. Saw Cavatina briefly before the concert, but wasn't sure whether it was her on the opposite balcony, my eyes not being so good these days. I'm crying out from giving a description of the concert - thereby hoisting myself on my own petarde, having contributed to your Critics thread. Now I have to say I have to hand it to those critics who do write-ups on difficult contemporary music: I'd have to hear such music quite a few times before getting beyond saying, that, yes, the Birtwistle was pretty amazing.

'morning S_A and everyone. Glad you enjoyed Cadogan Hall. I may even try to listen to that today. As everything is jumbled atm [tinnitus], it should be interesting.

Beware Tuesday's weather, forecast is dire.

Oh saly - I urge you (if it's not too late) to not listen to the Birtwistle - it will surely make your tinnitus much worse, if it doesn't cure it forever!
