A chilly mist here too just now. Not too many witches and hobgoblins out last night...not compared with London, anyway.

        I should say!

Thick fog cleared here just after midday - now sunny and I'm about to pedal down to Croydon for some pleasant afternoon jazz - free probably in both senses.

Anyway, fog notwithstanding, it looks as though it's going to remain well on the mild side for the next week or so.

A simply wonderful start to November here in the Pennines - cloudless sky, 14 degrees, sunshine glowing off the Autumn colours. I normally spend the first Sunday of the month on housework, but couldn't let this weather go to waste so spent the afternoon in the garden.

A big contrast to the dull grey rains of last year - reminds me why Autumn is my favourite of the seasons (Vivaldi's, too!). Hope it's been as life-affirming for Forumistas everywhere.

The shade temperature here didn't get higher than 12 C, but that didn't stop it feeling mild enough on the sunny side of the street for me to head down to Croydon without need of an overcoat of any kind. As I write, the fog is just beginning to re-form.

Lovely sunny and warm weekend in North Cheshire.
I don't know what the temperature was yesterday but it must have been close to 20 degrees.
Out dog walking yesterday I saw plenty of people who seemed to have been taken by surprise, carrying their coats and fleeces.
A little cooler today but still very mild.
                  Thick fog now.

A thoroughly horrible day here. The fog never lifted at all and it's that damp, drizzly fog that makes it feel colder than it really is. Chilly enough all the same as it never got beyond 10 degrees up here.

However, 'dense fog'? I think not. Those of us who are old enough to remember can recall truly dense fog when you literally could not see your hand in front of your face.

We had the damp and drizzly fog first thing, then a nice sunny day (I was stuck inside the house working) then back to the fog early evening.
Seemed to appear just as I was setting off to walk the dogs, not good for the old asthma.

Yes - quite a contrast with yesterday's all-day sunshine, the Pennines had all-day mist today - silvern-white after the gold.

(Still an improvement on the dull grey rains of a week or so ago.)
