I am almost sure it wouldn’t. It’s talking about it that the British are obsessed with and not so much with the weather itself.

Well, still not a drop of rain down this end of Kent. The badgers have been digging up any plants newly planted in the ground, in tubs or in pots. That’s the only place they seem to be able to dig up to look for food. And there is still no rain forecasted….

If I see a Christmas pudding on sale in Sainsbury's in June I'll know it's all true, salymap!

I, possible alone, am greatly enjoying this topsy-turvy weather - the early sunshine has eased my mind and the warmth has eased my joints. I don't mind taking out half a dozen bowls of water to 'feed' my patio garden - and when one more smug soul tells me 'that's the wrong sort of rain, dear!' I just point to how happy it's all looking

yep amateur51 it is a tad blissful innit ...but not in the USA where the Mississippi is yet to reach its peak levels and they are likely to have the worst flooding since 1927 .... [i use one of those curly hoses and long necked end things to reach the baskets and pots up on the walls, leaks like a sieve and soaks me but what fun ...]
According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

Yes, the weather has been topsy-turvy now for several months - not just here but worldwide. Whether or not it's to do with El Nino I'm not sure; but the low pressure systems that normally give us in the UK our customary mixed weather are tracking much further south than usual - and that goes for the States as well.

I no longer have a TV but used to watch the Weather Channel's forecasts and, occasionally, get sucked into watching high weather drama on a program called "Storm Stories" which was mostly about tornadoes and hurricanes. I still use the Weather Channel's online forecasts to see what kind of weather to expect for the coming week. I was always amused by weather reports on Radio 4 that would forecast rain with bright intervals!

It is cloudy and according to BBC Weather the SE/Kent are to get a shower at 1pm today. This is really nail-biting stuff, is it possible?

The good side is that the weeds are drooping as well as the plants in my garden. Wow.

Oh are we all going to gather around the ol' Joanna in the parlour & make our own entertainment, then?

I'd rather be dead in a ditch me, but ...

How is ol' Joanna I wonder?

Hope you used the drops wisely - my Ditzy daughters still can't remember if the coalfields have had any drops or not!!

Compulsive indeed! Yes, we have a lot of weather over here...but it's a big country! Hurricane season starts next month which will make for interesting weather hype on The Weather Channel! Hurricanes are nothing to be sniffed at and we're very lucky to have been spared any major storms for quite a while. I good nor'easter can do almost as much damage as a hurricane, though.

Yes we have decided to come to Florida this year before the Hurricane season starts as in the past we have had some narrow escapes!
