Still cool, and really wet tomorrow and the weekend, but arming up from next Thursday, according to "Brummie Simon":

I'll believe that when it comes.

Two hours ago the skies darkened, and a loud boom of thunder announced seven minutes' worth of torrential rain, bringing the temperature down from a mingy 14 C to a really mean 10 C, from which it has hardly yet recovered. Coat on, therefore, for the weekly groceries expedition. Oh boy, I do hope we get this expected change to a warmer weather regime by next weekend. Salad days/weeks/months ahead! Anyway, tomorrow looks likely to be the best day of the weekend for outdoor activities.

                  What's become of Anna??

Yeah! It's not so good in the Highlands, either. Occasional bright periods interspersed with heavy rain - and cold too! We were in the Outer Hebrides last week and it wasn't too bad.

I seem to recall reading in April that the whole country was in line for three months of very hot conditions. Wishful thinking, eh?

Quite. The weather's bad here too. For the end of May, it's deplorable. And my summer hols start in three weeks.
