Good for the garden. No water from tap for over 24 hours in our neck of North Wilts following mains pipe burst.

      Hope you have a tank?
I am puppy sitting at the moment and we have both had muddy feet this morning. Trouble is, Teddy is 9 weeks old and loves chewing a towel...

No tanks any more after new condenser boiler installed a few years ago. (Generally happy with that sytem but I can see this is a drawback under such circumstances). By chance, I did have a couple of watering cans filled and they are handing out free bottles off the back of a lorry. Only two of us, so no real problems. Toilet arrangements better better left undiscussed.

The cold front predicted to bring a burst of short-lasting heavy rain appears to be coming apart as it crosses us here now, with breaks in the cloud band and less precipitation than expected.

Well, on t'other side of N. Pennines, we're getting peppered by stinging little sleet showers every 20 mins or so at the mo. Top temp c 7C, in a biting westerly. Plus Sun, of course!!

It been odd here. Lovely sunny morning but blustery, up to 12.3° then around 1.30 black rolled in with sharp but heavy showers, temp dropped like a stone in the space of an hour to 8.7°, now it's climbed right back again to 12° !!

(I've just watched the Brand/Miliband show! We gotta stop phone 'acking. Funny how easy it is to lapse into estuary english when it might get you votes, innit?)
It's ok, I'm not being political, merely making an observation!

Strange day here, too. I left the office at 4.30, and had to run to the car through an exceptionally heavy hailstorm. The temperature was a chilly 7°C. An hour or so later and it was a lovely sunny evening.

Had a rumble of thunder, very late afternoon, with a mix of rain, sun and I saw rainbow to!

By contrast today, clear blue skies!

Ooh, nothing like that here, BBM!

Today, nice cumulus development but not enough to make the showers predicted, I think. The official forecast has it wet here for Saturday, thundery showers Sunday, and a few showers on Monday; temperatures topping out at 15 C on Sunday and Monday, which would be average for early May, but not particularly warm. But my feeling is that if the weather chart is as predicted, with winds comng from the SE, that Monday maximum looks a bit pessimistic.

Pleasant day but chilly wind (18 mph) very noticeable on bike.

Richard Barrett posted news of World Naked Garden Day yesterday, but it was rather spoilt by my childish fondness for cheap puns:

As the forecast today is for rather chilly weather, especially after sunset, anyone wishing to participate might be glad to hear that minimal clothing in such conditions is acceptable.

                        Just a thong at twilight.

I am rather fond of puns but knowing where to stop, can be rather difficult, Ferney! :)

A mixed bag today I think, weather wise. Typical Bank holiday weather! My school is on B/H Monday! :(
