Oh I say Cali - it says: the spectacular lightshow will see a sparkling and brilliant white Venus snuggle up to the Red Planet beside a crescent Moon.
Cripes! And you want me to watch that in stereoscope?
Oh well, if we are all doomed - I might as well enjoy it!!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
It was indeed a wonderfully starry night - and cold at -2°, first thing this morning the landscape was truly a Winter Wonderland with everything bright white after a hard frost. However it's now horrible, raining and suddenly very, very, windy and none too warm.
The sort of Sunday afternoon just made for curling up with a book, a mug of tea and a slab of fruit cake!
After a lovely few days, there's been rain and snow here this afternoon.
These stories of cake are making me feel quite envious. Still, I had home-made soup for lunch, and later I'll be having pheasant and a glass or so of French red.
That's me!!! Just PM me and I'll give you my phone number for those urgent occasions, Anna!
Temperatures reached - 2 C here last night as well, which surprised me, and had struggled up to a 7 before the wind and moderate rain quickly moved in following lunch. Having cold rain thrust in the face was no fun as I curtailed my afternoon constitutional to the statutory 20 minute round-the-blocker. As 8th says, it looks like we're stuck with this yo-yo for a while yet.
Well, oop 'ere. it is shovelling it down, can barely see the fells, temp has not got about 3C all day, snow and sleet on the hills and all being driven by rising westerly.
Enjoy your fair weather, O MoreSouthEasternish Tribes, because the dreech is deffo coming your way!
Vile, vile afternoon - blowing a gale and driving, very cold rain travelling diagonally if not horizontally. Made two (mercifully short) cycle rides to get around this pm pretty painful

I hope so too... for equally selfish reasons!
One assumes it's pleasant shirt-sleeve weather in Languedoc?
