Like a lot of medical conditions, if you haven't got it you can't understand it! Sorry to hear about the asthma sufferers on the board but I really do like the weather as cold and still as it is has been these past few days. What I really dislike is wind and rain together and that damp chill that gets in the bones.

There's still a fair amount of frozen snow about at the moment but looks like it could soon be giving way to ... wind and rain!

Milder air has certainly come into Cornwall this afternoon and evening.

I'll stick with being a pleasant 10 minute cycle ride from Hyde Park Corner, notwithstanding, ta!

Deadly pavements here this morning after a heavy frost left a thin film of ice everywhere. Slithered once or twice but my Wellies have very good grip. Temperature lifted a few degrees in the afternoon and the compacted snow is starting to disappear.

                H'mm. First post of 2015.

Dundee has started the New Year with a wet, chill, and dismal day. Not good for the local football derby ko 12.15.

                The weather can only improve!

This looks to be set thus for the bulk of January: mostly westerly weather, windy at times, with alternating wet and bright days, showers more likely the further north one happens to be, and a possible colder spell of northerlies starting around the 25th.

It was glorious yesterday. Today in Glasgow it's wet (although the rain has stopped now) & windy. I hope it's calmed down tomorrow as we are off to Irvine for a Beardie walk on the beach at 11.00.

Beautiful clear, sunny and breezy day, 7 degrees C and almost springlike! Tomorrow promises to be wet, everywhere, (sorry 'bout that!) so this calls for a stroll this afternoon.

So, quite normal Winter weather then? I think we can all happily live with that, there's been far too many extremes lately (and people are still recovering from last year's floods)
Yesterday was so gloomy but warm at 11° and when the promised rain finally arrived it shot up to 13°. Today it's just under 8° (as forecast), breezy, fair amount of cumulus - a rather nice day and, as S_A says, good for a vigorous walk!

Bright & sunny, but with a strong west wind, for the dog walk, until the return leg (I'll leave others to fill in the jokes about dog-legs ) when we were subjected to a sudden hail shower, which we were walking into.

When we got home we could strip off wet clothes, but the dog is still very wet & sandy - we'll be following him around with the vacuum cleaner as the sand dries & drops off.
