Sorry, slipped into panto mode for a moment .... Here once again it's unseasonably warm at 12° but mainly cloudy and barometer's only dipped slightly so still on for a settled, mainly bright, not too cold, Christmas Day.

Gale force winds (an old flame of mine - one of the Norfolk Force-Wyndes) throughout last night and into today - and now heavy drizzle. Glad to be indoors.

It's really horrible here today as well, and last night the wind was actually moaning outside and with the dead leaves launching themselves at the wndow .....it was quite creepy, a bit of a Wuthering Heights moment! No rain yet, just spitty for the moment, and still very windy.

Going past the butcher's at lunchtime, he had a window piled high with his hand raised pork pies. I'm not a pork pie eater normally but the latticed ones did look rather lovely .... the greengrocer was also doing a roaring trade and getting frazzled about filling his order boxes. That's really good that people aren't buying overpriced supermarket veggies.

Really horrible wind here today but very mild at around 14 degrees.

after a bit of rain last night, it has turned into the most gorgeous day down here in S wilts.
7 degrees, sunny, hardly a breath of wind.

Perfect for a bit of last minute pre Xmas pottering about .

Unbelievable generally today, driving up an almost empty M1 between about 10am and 1pm, amid blissful sunshine and beneath cloudless blue skies.

First time I think I've spent most of Christmas Eve in shades!

I very much doubt the veracity of that statement!

Back on topic: About the same as teamsaint here, just a degree warmer. Rotary Club were out collecting - after I put money in the bucket I was told I could go and get a sweetie from Santa! Does anyone else feel somewhat uncomfortable around Mr. Claus? However, the bus driver had a big tin of Quality Street on his dashboard and everyone was invited to have a rummage.

Trust a lawyer to examine the fine print if he thinks he can get one over and score points!! I meant I doubted ...... which I will now correct!
