Well, we get typhoons seasonally, so we're sort of used to them (though we're very jittery after last year's super-typhoon). But any storm that can do real damage is dreadful. I hope everything turns out to be a damp squib.

Now back to Joseph Conrad - Typhoon!

They're forecasting heavy rain and gale for us down south tonight, BBM, and the nearer the Channel the worse; so best get down to Be and Queue for those extra guy ropes and pegs, eh?

Thank goodness it's only 10 days to shortest day. I hate the darkness and gloom.

Happy Christmas to my friends, while I'm on line.

It is so disspiriting, isn't it?! And seems much worse this year, somehow.

                  And to you, too, sals.

A wild wet and windy night last night. Still raining, not good for the last day of term! :(

Tied up my little Apple trees more firmly last night, and sure enough the wind was quite noisy. But everything is calm and grey this morning.

Leaving home in the dark and returning in the dark - one of the worst things about the Winter. Still, not long until the shortest day and then ...... Spring! Season's greetings to you too saly if we don't see you again before Christmas!

Last evening/night was horrendously wet and windy, the river level has gone up dramatically this morning but it's quite mild and dry with a further deluge on Sunday (here). However, we are promised a few clear overnight spells to possibly see the Geminids which should be peaking tonight until 14th.

Well had the end of term concert and the senior school's prefects sketch on The Nativity(very funny, with a few in-house jokes thrown in!!). Our new headmaster seemed to enjoy it, he was smiling!! :)

So that's you home with your feet up until mid-January then! Or do you have any Carol concerts where you're playing?
It was so cold and frosty this morning, I normally go out first thing but at -1.8 and with the frost and ice sparkling in the sunshine I left it until later, lovely and sunny, no wind, but frost still not melted in the shadows. Sally Army playing under the Christmas tree, that always gives everyone a good Yuletide glow. Supermarkets beginning to heave, so I shall avoid them from now on as I've got the essentials - Lebkuchen, Pfeffer-Nusse and Panettone!!
