Looks like I may just have a chance of getting to the Mahler 3 Leipzigers Prom.....but need a ticket.

Serves you right about missing al the fun. Isn't there anything on at the Turkish Proms?

incidentally, I would mention to Mrs Oven that a deal is a deal, plus your card is not working......
Can't you prom the Mahler 3?

No chance, really. Likely to sell out, I should think, and don't want to go on the off chance.Plus now I find it is a 7.00 start.
Tough to get there from where I will be for 7.00 even with a seat ticket...

I really hope that this does not sound like gloating, because I don't indulge in that, but today is hotter than yesterday, it would seem. We had lunch at the picnic table, but I had to retire to the shade after a while because it was too hot to sit there. Never mind, the payback will come in January, I have no doubt!

Ah yes, I forgot that not everyone lives in the most important city in the world.

Decent of you not to suggest that your spell of fine weather was the last desperate throw of the "We're Stuck With Each Other" campaign of the Scottish referendum alycidon

There doesn't look like much respite in next few days either.

Not been too bad in the Manchester area.
Lovely and sunny this evening when I was walking the dogs.

Yes - a lovely day on this side of the Pennines, too. Forecast fine for tomorrow, too. And then ... rain until well into the weekend.

Incidentally, does anyone use the Met Office website regularly? Does the message "Get Ready for the Great British Summer" still appear at the top of the Home Page for you, too? Are they still talking about this year, or encouraging us to be really prepared?!

At least, a respite from rain but turned chilly!

This kind of weather we've been having seems to bring out a collective death wish in snails and slugs. I don't know how many I had to pick up from pavements and pathways yesterday - and very slippery the slugs are; at least with snails there's always something solid to get a grip on!

Yesterday, someone very kind broke into my flat and cleaned it, including the insides of all windows, dusting and polishing surfaces, hoovering everywhere and spraying anti-moth spray on anything woollen, re-arranging my hypochondria and even replacing the hoover bag. And all for no payment. Now for the first time in a year everything is where it should be once more. This is what happens when dropping one of my four drugs - on doctor's orders - leads to a welcome recovery of energy, zest and motivation. Now I have to get on with all the tasks that have been waiting too long.

All sounds like good news , S_A.

with this energy upsurge, and renewed interest in domestic maintenance, perhapsy ou could turn your mind to the vexed question of why Windowlene is pink?

Its horrible here, despite a decent forecast. Persistent drizzle and cool.

Enough to make you get the casserole out.

Perhaps, maybe another thing EA could do, with this renewed upsurge with his energy levels would be to help me with my next project!! :)

Send me the tone rows, and I'll work out all the permutations - forward, inversion, retrograde, retrograde inversion!

or perhaps you have something stochastic or at least aleatory in mind?

Aleatory brass band music I DO want to hear.
