Ten to seven and the sun is still shining. It's been a lovely hot summer's day. Discovered San Pellegrino Aranciata Rosso yesterday in a Wagamama of all places! Lovely stuff, but can't help hankering for a B&S!

Now very windy, if dry, and blowing the apples off the tree in garden. Plums still firmly on other tree and don't yet look ready picking though the birds have made a right mess of some of them.

Keep the birds away from your plums.

and he's not even in the country...............(sighsmileything..)

anyway, after a poor start, its sunny and breezy, allowing for just a few hours of what we British call " a good drying day".

there is no Italian phrase that means the same.
              Fact.

              Or so I was told......

Thanks for the warning, SA. Still raining here, quietly but persistently, and it's a cool 15º C.

Many thanks for the reminder, mercs. People should take a look this week because yes, it does appear considerably larger than usual.

I should bloody well hope so. No point in living in Wiltshire otherwise.

(in other words I have no idea).

EDIT: 1 goes through Salisbury Cathedral which is 7 miles away. don't suppose that counts.

I shall consult Mrs TS, she knows all that stuff.
Does a ley line make the moon shine brighter?

That wouldn't surprise me at all!

As I was tottering up towards the Kilburn High Road after a particularly alcofrolic dinner with friends last evening I stopped to gaze up at the wonderful moon in a clear sky and it did appear to be bigger and brighter.

All of which reminds me of the stunning opening of David Lean's film of Hobson's Choice, and the tremendous music by Sir Malcolm Arnold
