I freaked out when she said Sloane Square, but she's right about the food not being that expensive, as you can see. One can easily make assumptions about restaurant prices in swanky districts.
Ditto the branch of Côte on Ken High St. that I recommended in relation to Proms hostelries

Word to the wise: the crème caramel is tip-top! The only time I've ever preferred it to crème brûlée. A gourmet friend pestered them for the recipe...

BBM - of great interest to you - THE PLANTAGENETS!! A new three part series on BBC2 starting next Monday, a complete history. Hope they consulted you when they made it ...

Ontopic, grey, dull, chill breeze, until around half-two when the sun finally came out and it reached just over 10°. The hedgerows are a wonderful sight, all white and pink with blossom and the magnolias have fat buds about to burst forth (not good because they get frosted so easily)

          I'll get me Côte

Beautiful here in S Yorks, clear sky, a perfect Spring day. Out to mow the lawn (if the mower starts up )

Disappointingly dull and not that warm today here in the Duchy.

Today weatherwise was actually better, and the train windows were cleaner too, so my camera was out. Bright sunshine, mild. Absolutely amazing to get two consecutive days like these. You just cannot beat Scotland when the weather is good.

                (Well, I would say that, wouldn't I!)

Thanks all - the expectations of the eatery were amply confirmed. I said my cousin's wife, "Cote and Brasserie - so you can leave those here!" Victoria coach station was unrecognisable from the dump I remember in the 70s. Opposite side of the road is turning into an elongated shopping mall. We ended up going to Tate Britain for Richard Deacon's amiable post-Constructivist sculptures; they do great Earl Grey tea in the cafeteria there. Either the Pimlico vibe is very friendly nowadays, or my jokes have improved, but I couldn't afford to live there.

                    Car de-icing this morning.
By the time of my lunch break at work it was summer.

Reminds me of something my dad always said: wash your car whenever you want it to rain!

Car de-icing here as well! Yesterday's rain turned to sleet and then snow. We have about 2-3 inches in the ground now. The Golden Orb is trying to break through. March winds are a bit brisk as well.

First time sitting out in the garden today - light winds, hazy sunshine, and maximum temperature of 14 C after very foggy start. Foresythia starting to bloom, quite a few magnolias out; even small trees and shrubs starting to come into leaf here in S London! Tomorrow promises more of the same, and though winds are expected to pick up to a moderate breeze everywhere towards the weekend it should stay on the mild side.

My word S_A, we're a few degrees behind you! We just might be on the mild side by the weekend...in time for the annual St. Patrick's Day parade. St. Pat's day is actually on Monday but the parade is always on a Saturday. It's less to do with the holy saint and more to do with being drunk and disorderly (not me of course.)
