Given the horrendous forecast for today it's not been bad here. Perishing cold, with windchill factor it was feeling around 1.9° until around lunchtime when it started raining. However, it wasn't torrential and by around five-thirty had stopped. A few showers since with gusts of wind, now dry again and still. No worse than any day late in January. I think the high winds are expected here later on and into tomorrow - Sunday promises dry. I mentioned to someone that February is a short month and we'll soon be in Spring, where upon the reply was dark mutterings about 'Feburary Full Dyke' so I felt suitably chastised.
Anyway, Rugby Six Nations starts tomorrow - that's something to look forward to!

You'll be OK BBM and also the Londoners here, no rain where you are until after lunch and a beautiful sunny Sunday as well! It's the West that will get it worse, not so much rain as gale force winds combined with tidal surges and Scotland likely to take a battering.
Here, at 3.30am it was the most perfectly clear starry night. At the moment we've got blue skies but I'm off out shortly before the rain sets in.
Edit: I've just seen the Daily Express exclaim: BRITAIN is facing another month of storm HELL – with no let up until early spring

Sunny but a bitingly cold wind here this morning. Somewhat surprised that all horse racing goes ahead this afternoon after so much rain but glad all the same.

It was lovely to be out and about walking this morning under a blue and sunny sky (although the wind was enough to slice your ears off) but home just before the rain started and it looks set in for the day. I can report that the Black Mountains on the Welsh side were well and truly white and sparkling whereas those on the Herefordshire side merely had a slight dusting on the tops. So far it seems as if the coastal flooding has been averted. (Best of luck with the nags Pet!)
Edit: January rainfall here totalled 189.5mm

Vicious Easterly oop 'ere this a.m. with just a few flecks of spiteful rain and sleet in it. Very nasty. Early sun now quite gone.

Cold - 1ºC at 8.00, and about 4º now - but dry here. The forecast for the west of Scotland is dire.

I am going out shortly, and may be some time.
