The BBC weather site has changed the forecast for this part of the world three times in the last 12 hours - from rainy all day, to merely overcast, to light rain from 10am to lunchtime.

Can our weather forecasters provide some insight as to what's likely to happen on Weds in London? I have a particular need to know, in re: modes of transport!!

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Rain in the morning, quite strong winds all day, and it'll be on the cold side. So, taxi, then...

Nah - there's enough of those on the Politics board already!

(I would have written "Get your wellies out lad", but not everybody might have their glasses to hand...)

I see that parts of the United States have been experiencing extreme weather. The weather system concerned would have crossed Rhode Island this morning, so I hope our dear friend marthe is OK.

Grey, dull, rainier this pm than this am but high of 10.9°. Until around 3.30 when it all cleared, temp suddenly dropping and delicate pale blue and lemon sky. Local forecast saying snow flurries in the Brecons and N. Wales to come.

So, Ron the Builder and sidekick Wyn tipped up at 7.30am, said 'we'll offload ladders, you get off out, we don't need you here and we are ducking and diving the rain today.' So, I arrive home, one ladder going up past bathroom, one on roof. No sign of any work. So, just phoned Ron. 'Tiles were delivered to wrong address, but don't worry, it's all in hand, you just carry on as normal, as we will'

So, I guess, and and when, the job will get done! (I do like Ron, he's a lovely old hippy type, luxurient silver locks and moustache, specs, tall, looms over me, he positively exudes trust and confidence. Wyn is sweet, bucktoothed, rather shy)

Unusual to find what you want for Christmas this early in the Season, Anna

If only, Ams, if only I could capture a general builder, then I'd have a kitchen tap that didn't leak, a bathroom to die for and a conservatory worthy of a colour supplement! Unfortunately Ron has a wife and is a devout Catholic. But, a little flirtation gets the roof tiles on a little easier ......

But what of shy buck-toothed Wyn, running his cap nervously through his hands and shifting from foot to foot as you speak to the gaffer?

Rare is the tap that wouldn't yield to Wyn's adjustable pliers once applied with gusto, I'll be bound

Does the phrase "passion hidden in plain sight" mean nothing to you?

are Ron and Wyn aware that they star in an online serial, each episode eagerly anticipated by thousands ?

Perhaps I should change the names to protect the innocent?
It was 1.9° when I got up, there is thick frost, lovely sunrise in a crystal clear sky. a ground mist over the frosted field making it look very pretty.

The moon was still high in the sky when I drove to work this morning, after again scraping the windows. The temp was a crisp -2º C. It is now a lovely sunny morning.

Well, we have the first snow of winter in Drumnadrochit this morning. Not much, and may it stay that way.

I feel terribly guilty, having wished for snow all my life - but now I'm 70 and likely to damage myself if I go down, I'm not so keen!
