Stormy Weather

It suddenly struck me that if this snow happens then the Daily Depress and the Daily Maul that we all so roundly condemned for scaremongering ....... have been proved right!!

They forecast the Great Storm more or less correctly and they got the Philippines tornado accurate as well. The problem both of these papers have is in the nature of their reporting which is in the sensationalist/apocalyptic mould.

A dankish sort of day here, mainly grey, always looked as if it would drizzle, it's around 8.5° now, so a typically dreary November day. As to the Daily Wail, I did see online their screaming headlines about Arctic winds and -4, but, hey, it's Winter .... it happens every year!
A bright spot was Wales v Argentina (40-6)

Well, I'm delighted that Wales won; I always am, except when they're playing Scotland. I survived my Saturday at work* - that's it till Jan 11th - and tonight it's curry, and (later) Borgen.

OT, Dry here today, and I could see some glimmerings of sun through the windows this afternoon. Temp c 10ºC.

*Saturday at my place of work is an odd day, especially if the weather is inclement. A lot of people seem to say "It's not a nice day out, let's phone mangerton and have a fight!"

I didn't know Borgen was returning, to be honest I gave up on it and, in this new series, is she no longer a politician? In fact, remembering the first Borgen, I really only liked fat Thomas (or am I mixing up my Scandis?) I want to know when The Bridge II is coming.
I used to quite enjoy it when I worked Saturdays, finished at 4pm and used to meet friends down the local for a swift one before heading home.

I'm not going to hear the end of this, am I? In fact, I had one at lunchtime. My curry was delish! Your casserole sounds delish too. I was overtaken by events, and Borgen will be watched tomorrow.

I'm not sure about Bridge II, but in our northerly parts the Queensferry Crossing is under way. It was originally known as the third Forth bridge, but this was deemed too confusing.

We were promised fog and mist all day and that's what we've got, seems to have been light rain overnight, doesn't feel cold although just under 6°, the idea of doing some outside tidying isn't tempting (but BBM's roast dinner is!) The BBC forecast is showing sleet/snow here for Wednesday but the Met Office one isn't.

The BBC forecast is showing sleet/snow here for Wednesday but the Met Office one isn't.

Pretty much the same gloopy sort of weather at this end, although it did manage to reach a windless 9.5 C, and apart from a day of rest from the London Jazz Festival, I was able to get out and dead head our roses. Surprising how those bushes have managed to go on flowering profusely well into November this year; and with the growth process now slowed to a crawl, once the flowers come out, they stay out longer than in the summer.

Rather an overcast and coldish day today. I am working on my next project, as I have a whole day off today!! :)(Well nearly, had to go in for a few hours back now!)
