Shocking day here today. 3ºC at 8 am when I went out for a newspaper. There have since been torrential rain, strong winds, and leaves everywhere.

Ditto here. I thought it was getting exceptionally gusty after lunch then saw that Scotland, S. Wales & the SW have a storm (wind) warning! It's really horrible with leaves swirling everywhere but probably warmer than you at 10°

I've been moving the furniture in preparation - either it's got heavier or my SuperPowers are waning as it was a real struggle with two items, however, tomorrow as we're promised better weather I'll move the tubs and outside effects and empty a old dresser but I'm afraid the workmen will have to shift that (it's 7' tall!!)

Cali was merely reminding me to listen to the episode of Algernon Blackwood, which was an invitation to the Witches' Sabbath - but I've already heard it! I'm not sure whether he was implying I too could be a Witch .... I do fancy myself as Morgan Le Fay of course!

Looks more like its name than a lot of named space objects!!

Extremely windy here as well. Local Lions Fireworks do went ahead about half a mile from here but still perfectly audible above R3 Live in Concert and double-glazed windows.

I thought I read somewhere that nebula photographs like the famous Hubble telescope ones were somehow "enhanced" with colour ...... not that I in any way understand the subject

Mercia, I think nebulae are more or less permanent features... the crab nebula etc. I think they are often highly active areas where stars are created...

... or something.

EDIT: nebulae it seems may be stellar nurseries or stellar graveyards:
