By our standards the Victorians were strange people in their attitude to death, as I discovered when researching my family tree.

OT, I drove home this afternoon. Brilliant sunshine the whole way, and the highest temp I noticed on the car's thermometer was 20º C. Lovely afternoon here. Sorry to hear about all the storms in the deep south.

Hope you're not culling any CD's and there's plenty of room for them in the new home. Got to get your priorities right

I wish I had more room for my CDs and all the various things we have to keep-tax forms, statements, receipts, direct debits, etc.

My small spare bedroom isfull ofnew folders and files I'm supposed to sort out. My policy now is 'keep everything.'

I had to tidy/clear up every room prior to central heating installation, it seemed a mammoth task at the time (and I admit to just throwing some stuff into a cupboard!) but the charity shops benefitted and I was very pleased to have such an orderly, tidy, house for a change
Absolutely perfect day here, blue skies and sun all the way, a high of 18.4° (Have today washed winter jumpers in readiness though in case of change in temperatures .....) Still seems as from Monday here will be rain, rain, rain.
Is 8obs off on his caravanning adventures again?, he's not been seen on here for a while.

Very disappointing weather here today. The mid-level cloud, which has been hanging around and giving big spots of rain from time to time over the past 3 days, broke up this morning, but the sunshine was brief and low stratocumulus spread quickly across from the North Sea, preventing temperatures rising higher than 16.5; it was just 14.5 when I got in an hour ago, with a definite autumnal edge to the wind. The washing on the line since midday is still damp, so it must be quite humid too.

Well. my jumpers/jerseys/sweaters/pullovers/woollies are quite dry (I don't know now the PC word for a knitted garment put on over the head since we had that discussion!! )

Off to bed shortly. Cousin due at 7AM and new TV sometime I hope.

It had better be good after a month without the box and wonder whether it will be worth it

                            Yours, grumpy of Sidcup x

                            PS

Jumper fits most of such garments I think.

My elderly friend, has got her new flatscreen Samsung HD telly, she has bad eyesight but is amazed at the clarity (she is huge rugby fan) and she says no grass has ever been greener, nor have any prop forwards' thighs looked so clear!!

How strange! It was rather nice in the centre for a little potter on the bike to the 11.30 Wigmore Hall concert, and then sunny (if breezy) after and ok for eating outside in shirt sleeves - albeit I was glad of a chunky sweater on the shoulders.

Just saw the Countryfile week's forecast, looks like Thursday will be a washout but otherwise now they seem to think not too bad in the south-east...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
