It's rather nice in Nessieland - quite sunny, and not unduly cold. Autumn as we know it, here.

Fair point, SA!
Saly, yes, Gamba, not been on here for a while., I hope he's ok to.
It was quite interesting to hear the views of the children from and the staff, State schools that came over, as they marvelled at our facilities. Thank goodness I work in the private sector! One of the boys from a state school, hopes to come over on a music scholarship.Don’t cry for me

Interesting discussion on The Wright Stuff this morning about whether a warm summer, such as the one just gone by, makes winter psychologically more difficult to face than a bad one. Apparently the science suggests not: in a good summer - provided we've exposed ourselves to adequate amounts of sunlight of course - we store up amounts of Vitamin D necessary to sustain us through winter. This view seemed to be reflected vox pop carried out in the Bayswater vicinity of the programme. I have to say that to me, regardless of Vitamin D intake, the thought of any prolongation of the period during which daytime maximumum temperatures don't manage to reach 17 C is a bigger factor, however.

Ontopic: Forecast for here was non-stop heavy rain all morning, but all we had was some blustery drizzle, then it turned into a lovely sunny afternoon, 19.7°, cannot complain about that. Long range is still (I think) considerably warmer as from Sunday, going up to 24° Tubs of marigolds still blooming brightly with plenty of buds, trough of geraniums still puttiing on a good show. Last night, the moon was brilliant, cloudless sky and stars very bright.
(If saly is reading, a friend, I think same age as you, also has a tv which suddenly died (it was only 10 years old) but now she's looking forward to a new flatscreen with HD as it'll be so much better for her very poor eyesight. Her neighbour is taking her to a retail park with large Currys, etc., so she can choose)

Needless to say it simply caught fire I think he started to realise he was a bit too addicted....
