M'learned friend's nose not exactly to the grindstone this afternoon
All hail here too, but an hour later.
M'learned friend has a day off

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I was hoping for a report from Ams as to how his Spanish party went (in particular the chicken/chorizo casserole?)
Weather today can best be described as Fresh! Just above 13°, mainly blue but with very chill wind and a couple of short, sharp, showers.

I've posted about the wines in the Refreshment Room Anna (in response to a Hostly request ) but I'm pleased to report that the chicken & butter bean casserole was well-received. As you suggested the beans had gone quite gloopy in a nice way, and the whole thing had a nice spicy and earthy flavour. To my taste it was a tad light on the paprika but I was catering for several faint hearts. Several of the wines went well with it. Your idea of the french stick was a stroke of genius - seeing that I'd brough no grainy carbs our host went into a bit of a flap but I waved my bready baton at her and she was calmed
A lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends

Well, a great days music making was had by all the students that took part at the school, where I work today. Members of the LPO came down, plus schools from various places aroiund our area, both state and posh!
We all agreed(staff that is), what a wonderful day it's been.

Where is everybody? Getting wet by the weather!!?!?!?
BBC Forecast wrong again, said rain from lunch time, No. It's now been tipping it down for a while, I intend to have a pizza (sorry, no cooking tonight) and perhaps watch Bake Off for a bit of light relief! (what a disaster last week the tarts were!) Also, try to sort photobucket to post new photos.
Hope saly is ok, she has been very quiet.
OT, it's been a beautiful day here - sunshine all day. When I came out of the church at 9.00, the almost-full moon was shining brightly from a cloudless sky. Most picturesque.

No! Made it into and back from work without getting wet! (Was slightly drizzly on the way home, to be fair, but not enough to get one wet)

Good morning Anna and others. Lots of small problems and big old TV has gone to TV heaven.
Difficult things to decide.
I'm worried about gamba. Any news?
Have a nice day.
OT, It's been cold, wet and miserable weather for several days here.Autumn has started too soon for me. Used to reserve September for a week of holiday. Brrrrrr.

saly
Well saly it looks like it's going to warm up this coming Friday, and stay warm for a few days, though night times are expected to be cold, especially in Wales on Thursday and Friday nights, Anna be warned if you have any tender perennials to cover them up!
Funeral to attend this afternooon - getting to which looked like a ridiculously roundabout train journey as my bike is "in dock", but the cycle repair shop have "hired" me a big clumpy replacement for nothing, for the duration. "Don't I have to sign anything?" I asked, "No, because we have your bike!" she replied! I didn't like to point out that it's an old rust bucket!
