Gosh! Crikey Moses! Flaming Nora! and other responses.
No, surely Simon is not subversive? He has such a lovely chubby face and a friendly dog.
Or, does he deny climate change, are we into 1984 here?

Ok then, just checked Weatherweb. Warning to those of nervous disposition: Simon's mug comes on almost straight away, looking you in the face as it were; but he goes on to explain that the site was almost hacked into yesterday - hence the pop up warnings, Anna. If the same warning still appears (it didn't on mine) he recommends clearing out your history cache, then everything should be all right. Bit of a hassle.

Oh and btw Simon is a climate change denier!

OK, tried again, same message, cleared caches, run anti-viral etc.
Given up, will consult my barometer for forecasts! Or, even better, the bladderwrack hanging outside...
Seriously, if his website has been hacked - who would do that?

I think Simon would like to know, Anna - climate change protesters??!! They weren't actually hacked into - their anti-virus firewall etc protection managed to see off the attack.

Well, the sun is so stong here I have to close the curtans to block it. I shall look at Brummie Simon tomorrrow - meanwhile it's some pasta dish and the Last Night.

Me too S_A,as much as I love The Lark (and there's a teeny bit of George Lloyd) the whole thing doesn't appeal to me.
I'm going to have myself a fantasy prom via cd's.

On topic, after the washout yesterday more of the same was forecast here for today and yet it's been a glorious day, lots of sunshine and Simpson's sky.

Do you know what? I bought one open cap field mushroom today, enormous, but it cost me 83p! Of course it could feed a family of four for a fortnight .....

I looked out of the window earlier this evening and saw the rai was coming down in bucketloads. It has now ceased.

Great evening last night! Everyone loved the music I had played and they had kept on saying, "oh I love this or that song"! Always good when that happens! Will have another themed evening next month there. hmmm Brazil!?!?!? Anyone know any Brazil music?

Anna, unfortunately, MrsBBM didn't have much time to do any wonderful dishes.

Good, sunny morning here but with a distinct autumnal chill in the air first thing.

Same here but it's warming up nicely.

Last evening, around 18:00, the BBC Weather site showed today in London being largely sunny with no sign of rain.

It has rained twice so far today and the BBC Weather site forecasts more rain for most of the rest of the day.

Would I have done much worse if I had done a forecast by licking my finger and sticking it in the air?

Not a good day for BBC Weather forecasting

Nothing more reliable from the Met Office site, ami; the Pennines seem to have been given the weather you were promised - meanwhile we were predicted lots of rain!

Distinctly parkier today, too - it's very warm where there's shelter from the wind, but the chilly edge on the wind makes it very brrrrsome (if you'll forgive my using meteorological jargon).

The BBC certainly got it wrong here as well, the promised rain never materialised (although darkish clouds are hoving to) but it has been chilly. Just 7° early on this morning, only got to just over 15° and rapidly dropping. I half expected the heating to kick in - I'm glad it didn't, but on the other hand if it did it would prove the new system is working! Long range says hotting up as from Monday next, this week will be dry but fairly low temps. Edit: cloudburst now!
