Perhaps saly has got the rain we had around midnight? Woke to blue skies and sunshine, have been out shopping, cool breeze but just a jumper was enough, it's crept up to 15° with a bit more cloud cover (but got down to 6° around dawn), barometer is creeping up again. I have apples which need to be picked and also some blackberries are ready, not sure if I'll have to pick the green tomatoes and ripen on windowsill or hope we get more sunshine to finish them off.

It's brightened up since Iposted earlier, just a heavy shower as I popped to the local butcher.

Anna, someone brought me in some blueberries. never had them before, but with runny honey and plain icecream they are quite nice. Wouldn't walk miles forthem though

Saly, blueberries (whimberries as we call them here) are not to everyone's taste as they're not very sweet but a recent report has labelled them a 'superfood' as they are bursting with antioxidents, far more than any other fruit. I usually have them with yoghurt (plain or vanllla) or added to breakfast cereal. (Traditional Sunday day out in the S. Wales valleys is a trip up the hills to collect them, I have lovely family photo, taken in the 30s, of family doing that)

Not far from where I stayed recently in SW France there were myrtilles a-plenty both in situ and available at a farm. They reminded me of the whimberries of my childhood in terms of size and flavour and we had several tarts made from them

Still sunny but punctuated by sharp and short-lived showers, not forecast on BBC Weather website

A private party, with an American theme to it. I'm playing keyboards.

thank you! It's taken a few hours today to sort out what's going to be played!

And is Mrs. BBM providing the American menu? Pumpkin pie and hominy grits? (I went to an American food evening organised by the local Methodist preacher, who is American born and raised, but been over here for 40 years, my goodness, the desserts were very, very, sweet! I'm not a Methodist but she's a neighbour and it was in aid of Church funds)

Just tried to check Brummie Simon's website and got a warning from my anti-virus to say "This page contains active threats and is not recommended for browsing. gonna be a lot more of that kind of thing as "They" start clamping down on the internet, i'm afraid.

well they don't make their names public. You wouldn't , would you.

They? the same people who brought you unnecessary wars in various places, Cloud seeding in Vietnam (to keep on topic), chaos on the M25 yesterday, whatever.
The same people who tell us there is no money, but find plenty when they need £75bn (or however much) to prop up bank balance sheets.
                              The bad guys.

Perhaps all the bad stuff is just bad luck though.

                              Raining here now.

Gosh! - I suspected there was something right wing about "Brummie Simon" as he has a regular snipe at climate changers from time to time; but this is something else, and I shall have a look now!
