Enid Blyton () always referred to them as "sleeveless jerseys".
"Sleeveless sweater" or "sleeveless jumper" in our house. I had a couple of them at University, the shameful photographic record shows
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
I am making no further remarks anent jerseys, guernseys, tanktops, jumpers or sweaters. None is required here today anyway. A trusty Berghaus, on the other hand, would be very useful if I were going out. It's been raining here all morning, and it's showing no signs of stopping.

Well I have a shameful confession to make ........ Last Winter was so cold that I bought a scoop neck sleeveless jumper!! And very useful it turned out to be for an extra layer without bulkiness under a close fitting jacket. (If I have offended any fashionistas here I do apologise)

Don't worry, they're long past caring!

I do hope I didn't upset you yesterday with my remarks about diamond patterned Pringles ...... I wouldn't upset you for the world and I'm sure you look very dashing in them!
I meant to say earlier, although it seemed yesterday that we had a lot of rain it only amounted to 14.7mm which is just over half an inch.
Edit: The Met Office got it spot on. They said heavy rain at 1.00pm and Behold! It's now very dark and absolutely bucketting (does that have a double 't' or not?) but so far no rumbles.

Reason: weather update!
Sooner later 'someone' is going to own up to having a onezee....
....I have a Polar Fleece onezee....bought in 70's, to go under my boiler suit in studio, and to wear while scrambling around under hulks in scrap yards....still in working order....
On the subject of clothes - any kilt wearers out there? Mangerton, perhaps, or Scotty? With family weddings etc in the offing I'm thinking of reclaiming my Highland ancestry. Here's our 15th chief in full rig. This look may be a bit OTT, the musket for a start, but I do like the socks. Any advice gratefully received.

Wear more than just the socks.

Oh no, not at all. Au contraire, I thought I'd upset you with my rather thoughtless remarks about "jumpers". Oddly enough, the only Pringle I have is rather heavier, blue, and with a cable pattern.
