Morning, just rescued this thread from page 2. So many political threads, chat has been relegated perhaps.

Have big eyecheck-up on Wedns so will try to keep off MBs for a bit. Some hopes

Good morning salymap! Still grey but a tad brighter here in EnWubbleEweDeux and it's DRY! And no hint of street mobs demanding 'democracy!'. How lucky we are!

Good luck with your eyecheck. My optician thought he might have detected the start of glaucoma on my last visit but I need to go back for more pressure tests. There's always something, isn't there?!

Still cold and grey in the north although one daffodil in our garden has opened. Hope all goes well on Wednesday salymap and I have now almost synchronised my stride patterns to the wonderful Te Deum!

          Afternoon all

It's half term, so life has slowed to a gallop :) Sorry about the political threads, sal. I promise to be more restrained from henceforth.

anton, is that the Dvorak Te Deum? Bet it is.

Dear Mahlerei, far be it from me to try and restrain you impetuous young things from talking about your politics, I just don't want to read it myself I always thought 'the buns' was code for a new party. x

Love the Dvorak Te Deum. Just the bizz for cheering up grey days. I will put it on after a cuppa as that wonderful Birmingham Othello has made me all grey and soggy like the weather. Mind you, I intend to watch it (the Verdi) again.

Good luck with the eyes, salymap and Amateur51.

Good luck with eye checks Salymap. It's cold and snowy here again. Winter is hanging on with a firm grip.

Morning, thanks all for good wishes. I was supposed to stay off the MBs for three days or so to improve sight [impossible].

I too have one daffodil out at bottom of garden. or it's a sweet wrapper in bright yellow. Such mistakes have been known. Seems cold to me but warm and wet tomorrow. Sorry about your loss marthe. Sad old world.

Thank you for your kind wishes Saly. Sunny and very cold here. it's supposed to warm up a bit later in the week. Only the snowdrops are brave enough to bloom in this cold. The sun is getting stronger though. I had to lead a walking tour today and wore many layers to keep warm outside. The tour takers were good sports, too!

How did your visit to your optician go, salymap?

                        Better?

                        Or Worse?

Morning Am51, Some good, some not so Am. Pressure up but still can't read small print, but hosp specialists seem to think it's okay as it is. Must use my expensive special lamps more. Good luck with your check-up..

Lots of daffodils visible through rainy ambulance windows on way to hosp. Spring is sprung......almost.

Well that almost sounds encouraging, salymap!

I've got about 8 daffs 'on the edge' - nearly in bloom but bowed down by rain.

What's that yellow orb in the distant sky??

                              Morning All
We were promised a yellow orb today and as yet there is no sign and still only one daffodil! Yes salymap they keep telling me my eyes are fine "for my age" and I just need stronger lights when the yellow orb departs!
