Well Pet,I had Opinion at 8/1 (Ascot) and Shaishee (Newmarket) 2 singles and a double,Shaishee was 2nd.
Modest profit of £26 for a tenner staked, enough for a couple of Weinberg cds.
So sad to hear about the death of the Cecil horse Sir Thomas Chippendale.
When did the Saturday of the Ascot meeting become Royal ?,I'm sure it wasn't always so.
Wow, I am impressed! How do you pick a winner (there are loads of cds I want but cannot afford) and why was your selection better than Petrushka's? Do you use a special pin?

Hey Anna I'm no expert like Petrushka and Alison.
I'm not a regular punter on the horses, just like to have a little flutter on the big festivals,Ascot,Cheltenham,Aintree etc,but I love to have a couple of squids on the football every Saturday during the season.
I just look for names I like or have heard talked about on radio 5 or Talksport.
Big frown when I realised Pet had backed a horse in the same race as mine but there you go.

Here's a good idea Rob:
Write the names of the runners on slips and let Harry select:
I'm So Wild About Harry I'd risk 50p each way on whatever his paw lands on!!
And jiffybags full of beans could be heading your way in a few months! It's been really hard work, but the transformation is well worth it.
Hope your holiday, although mixed weather, is proving enjoyable in The Deep South (are the Natives friendly?)
They'll be bean bags, then. Thank you. I hope you get a good crop. Holiday fine, thanks, and I'm delighted to report that the natives are friendly, and that no interpreters have been required. Obviously my English is improving.

Already tried that with lottery numbers ,and I'm still working for a living.
There is a chance this weekend to see a supermoon (cloud permitting)
Fat chance tonight here - 20-20 cloud cover at the moment
There was a wonderful moon last night - I was cycling home around 10.30pm after a late evening at work, and due south it was (almost) full and most atmospheric among a few fast-moving clouds...

Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
Crikey BBM, I most sincerely hope I'll see the fruits of my labours not just a maybe (just)!! How old do you think I am? Should I prepare my shroud in case I am struck down amidst the beans, maybe with a stake through my heart, or strangled by a Scarlet Emperor? (Of course, there is that old song: She sits amongst the cabbages and peas ..... )
S_A, I checked St. Sprees website that they stocked living leaves before I mentioned them here. Obviously Londoners are not not so into lettuce as the healthy living greens munchers of Wales! Honestly, I cannot believe neither you nor Saly could get them, The Living Leaf Co. that produce them say all the major supermarkets stock them.
Apologies to you Anna! I didnt mean to make any incursions on your age or anything else.

Faute de lune from the UK, here is a rather lovely shot of the moon rising in the distance above the earth's surface, transmitted from the International Space Station recently...

Lovely clouds in that shot, Cali - altocumulus lenticularis and castellatus I reckon.

Well done, Rob. I'm certainly no expert, just a regular Saturday afternoon punter who tries to find the time to give it a bit of study and hopefully come up with the winners. Alison's much more of an expert.
I'm very annoyed about the race in which Opinion won as I was on Rye House in the same race. Stoute's stable jockey, Ryan Moore, had chosen to ride that horse and not Opinion (you see my way of thinking now?) which is why I backed it. Rye House was a very late non-runner (why?) and Moore moved over to ride Opinion - and won! It looked like a blatant tactical move and made me annoyed because I would otherwise have been on Opinion and made a decent enough profit for another boxed set.
We should have a racing tips forum on here!

Cripes, apologies and incursions accepted BBM!
As to the moon, last night I was tucked up in bed early around half ten or eleven watching the moon glissanding acros the sky. Tonight, who knows what I may see?

Reason: awful speling
Search me, guv. Went out yesterday evening - completely autumnal atmosphere: cool, damp atmosphere, the smell of wet leaves on the ground all shaken down by the gale, shiny pavements... Some midsummer weekend.
