one of my favourite type of days, rain and wind from the south cleaning the place up and a much milder temperature ... very blowy tho in the middle kingdom ... but fresh ...

Kung hei fat choy! Well we're two days into the Chinese Year of the Rabbit ( I am a rabbit - I'd prefer to be a hare or even a cat, but rabbit's not bad) and not a squeak from mahlerei or other bunophiles about any changes in their pets' behaviour.

I am definitely going to the dragon procession on Sunday - wouldn't miss it. I am Year of the Monkey, myself.

Well, up north clinging on to the raw west-facing fells, it's a wild, wild, wild night and it's hardly stopped raining for the last 36 hrs, I can tell you. Not particularly cold, but the wind is gusty and forceful.

....morning all, I thought I'd better keep the old thread afloat before "Just a reminder...." consumes all! The wind has, here at least, gone and the sun has just appeared.

i hate very windy weather very much. I get neuralgia, even if I wear an old woolly hat, the expensive fences blow down and it puts me in an [extra] bad mood.
I have started a good braising steak casserole to hopefully make things seem better. Sorry to moan, stay upright if you go out.It can only get better!

I've hated windy weather since I was a child. Very unsettling. My father used to sit on the end of the bed in his dressing gown at 03:00 explaining about hot air going up & cold air etc., when all I wanted was a cuddle and maybe a cup of tea.

                      So embarassing when you're 17

How's that casserole, salymap? Sounds dee-vine - have you made enough for more than one meal, so that the second go tastes even more wonderful?

No wind here for a change. It's just a dreary, grey day with rain (not snow) in the offing. Rabbit stew is on the menu for tonight. Saly, your steak casserole sounds quite delicious. I agree with AM51...casseroles always taste even better the second time around. Take care, all. Enjoy all the sport on the telly!

Morning all, don't know what the weather is doing but still windy by the sound of it. Marthe, don't let Mahlerei hear about your rabbit stew. He really loves his pet rabbits. The casserole will be on the menu again today, it saves that awful "what shall I eat".

Oops! How thoughtless of me. Mahlerei:this bunny came from the supermarket so wasn't a pet. We had two lovely rabbits 20 years ago or so when our children were young. One was a lovely chocolate-colored Netherlands Dwarf named Jonathan; the other a dun-colored doe named Sage. Sadly, Jon Bunny was attacked by a raccoon while we were away for a couple of days. The raccoon (they're nasty, vicious animals) clawed his way through the mesh of Jon's hutch and pulled him out.JB came out the worse and became the first inhabitant of our pet cemetery under the trees in the back garden of our old house. My son, who was 5 at the time, was bereft, and sad for weeks, at the loss of his special pet.

Saly: I agree about casseroles doing double duty for the next day's menu! I tend to do marathon cooking sessions 2-3X per week and then eating the leftovers in between. They always taste better the next day!

Never mind, marthe, you're forgiven :) Buns have spent most of the evening snuggled up and snoozing on the couch. They were very annoyed when it was time to go back in their hutches. Marvellous creatures.

I love a warm windy day. It makes me feel like I am beside the sea.
