The BBM round thing is performing well!

Mercia, I am transcribinbg for modern wind band, for my school, the Atheoses, from Berlioz's Symphonie Funebre et Trionfale. The wind band in berlio's time was subtly different at the time of Berlioz. They still had Ophicliedes, for instance. A lot of transposing is involved as well!!

Happily now, a simple course of antibiotics will clear this up!

22 C has been reached here this afternoon on S London's mountaintop, normally a cool spot, so it must have exceeded that widely elsewhere in the SE today. Nice refreshing breeze to make it bearable.

Because I wouldn't hear the front door from th back garden I'vebeen stuck indoors because a Boiler Service was due.

Never mind, 'tis done and I'm still indoors. Your refreshing breeze is my howling gale here S_A

Not much better than 12C here, mostly cloudy and, after a couple of humid days, that wind has been back again. If there has been anything noticeable about the weather in recent weeks it's not how cold it has been but the strength of the wind which has been in evidence nearly every day. It's ruined what should have been a decent few days this week.

Raining so far but Bbm's orange globe is beginning to struggle through.

And just 11 C here at midday - quite a shock to the system, though it would be much more so were the wind to be stronger. No sign of the anticipated showers as yet, dark cloud bases notwithstanding as the warning, though anyone going out anywhere this afternoon shouldn't be without a brolly.

"Brummie Simon" is predicting a summer of more-or-less average temperatures and rainfall for us all. So, no heatwaves, but no floods either this year (assuming he's right!) - just the kind of summer I like.

The globe has been bouncing off the pit heaps most of the day so far.

If men don't watch snooker for hours they enthuse about cricket. The only sport I really like watching is tennis and on Freeview we only get Wimbledon.

Used to like attending horse racing at Epsom in my distant youth, my dad's family lived nearby in Ewell.
