Very calm here in the south, and rather grey again. I hope the snowed-in ones are warm and well provisioned.

    As for error messages, I notice the difference between my work computer (Microsoft Windows) and my little home netbook (Linux open source);
Windows sends unnecessary messages at every turn. It can be irritating...

According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

Either Mahlerei's two buns are covered in snow or these are different ones. Are they Angora? At 14 or so I kept Blue Beverins[?] Flemish Giants and Dutch rabbits in the garden. I grew out of them by 17 though

Morning salymap & other Stormy Weatherites!

A degree or two milder here in NW2 and we've just had a shower of rain.

I must away soon to brave Brent Cross Shopping Centre so that I can exchange a Marks & Spencer pullover that a good friend bought for me for my birthday. the dear soul thinks that a 38-40 chest will fit - HA!

Fortunately Brent Cross is one short bus ride away so even I should be able to manage that.

Those buns are gorgeous but I have recently discovered the joys of Belgian hares:

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

I warn you that this woman's voice is completely irritating to my ears  but the leverets are gorgeous

Calum. I say 'Premium Bonds' not 'Rabbits' on the first of the month. Hasn't worked yet.

Thanks for comments on Windows. Half an hour on updates, downloads, configs today. I shall ignore their warnings.

              Keep warm, salymap

well the bunnies worked for me yesterday had an excellent day!

watching the news channel last night i was much taken with how pleasant the Egyptian popular revolt is in manner, style, and demand for respect and dignity .... the possibility that the demand for respect/dignity/freedom has become contagious with no reliance on ideology and the big powers perforce biting their tongues in awkward circumlocutions is pure sunshine ...let's all hope it ends well ...

I totally agree Calum, and although I've been chided elsewhere for being a tad naive, I couldn't give a fig.

My father was in Alexandria during WWII and always spoke very highly of it & its residents, and I've found lots of memories of his tales have come flooding back.

Have you read Alaa Al Aswany's The Yacoubian Building? - a good read.

thanks for that amateur51 .... i confess to reading escapist fiction ... in my undergrad days we had a year of Eng Lit [in a psychology major] but the lecturer developed an intense dislike of me [wonder why ] and i instantly reciprocated and have ever since refused to take Eng Lit seriously and find all the pontifications and theory mildly amusing at best .... so having spent my teens devouring novels i had more or less stopped reading them in any general way by my mid twenties .. i have not found this to be an uncongenial deprivation ... i do read fiction but really of a rather schoolboy inclination ... thrillers etc ... but i will kindle this one as an exercise in self discipline [another weak spot in my psyche alas]

off to hear a young sixth former give a piano recital ... another good day eh

Am51, i hope your too large sweater was changed for something suitable for your svelt self. In answer to a question from you, yes I purchesed 16 Twix bars. Two bites each for a week's wages when I was young, but what the ....

Morning all - anyone still around? Weak sunshine just now.

Twix bars are nice, but I waste money on Green & Black's Dark, to which I fear I am addicted.

I would think most of us are here thinking of Brukner 9 and related matters. The morning is verging on spring like here and it was always Marathons or whatever the Mad Men have decided to now call them for me!

Greenilex. Green and Black's Dark is also favourite of local coz, who seems to think it is good for his health. I like plain chocolate but preferably in a box of good chocs with nice centres. Yum yum.

Salymap, how sweet of you to imagine that the 38-40 chest sweater might be too big . The exact opposite is, I'm afraid, the case

I went to Brent Cross and they persuaded me that it would be fine to try it on & see - so I did & it fits - ish.

Getting away from Brent Cross was a nightmare - bus full of school kids and shoplifters from BC sharing out their swag. And not even a Twix to divert me!

I'm with you on dark chox with yummy centres - do you remember that selection that Terry's of York used to do at Christmas in a very fancy box? - was it called 1767? - now they were the cat's pyjamas in my book!

Sun's coming out here & I have a load of wet washing to hang up - wish me luck! Over the top!

Am 51, i was kidding over the size. Mornin' all. Very windy with wind blowing down the chimney. Should go to local shops but am still thinking about it.

Hope people in Scotland and Northern England are safe with their gale force winds.bws
