If I may join in with the "weather report" from my outpost in Rhode Island...we're having bright, sunny weather post-Thanksgiving. Night temps have now fallen below freezing but day is still comparatively balmy in the high 30s F with a brisk NW wind. The next bit of wet weather will very lkely be snow rather than rain. This is a busy shopping weekend which I'm avoiding until the crowds settle down to a dull roar. I will go and visit the open-house at my favorite garden shop because the owner is a generous, good-hearted person who has helped me quite a bit with my garden this year.

I'm sorry to hear about your snowy problems in the UK. It makes me realize why I voted on your weather with my feet, some years ago! Here, after very little rain since May and the most fabulous November I can remember, the heavens opened last night and the temperature dropped to around 7º C. At least it has saved me cleaning the car! However, this morning the blue skies are back but, I fear, not for long, and the temperature remains low

M63 anton gould. If that's a photo of you I'll eat my woolly hat! I imagine a distinguished professor type with a Dvorak score and cd clutched in his hand.

Morning all, I have posted on the old site but fully expect it to be modded. Today I must save my wrists to attempt some overseas Christmas cards which are due I am told.

That is my elder and sadly no longer with us Canadian "brother" Glenn! But actually getting him there proves what a wonderful IS trainer Eudaimonia is - I've never managed anything like that in my life before.
Read your posting in the other place and if it is modded I'll eat Glenn Gould's hat!!

Good morning folks! Maestro267, shivering away in South Wales. I didn't get much sleep overnight. It has been the coldest night for as long as I can remember, even colder than last January.

There was a light frost here last night (now nearly all cleared). No snow as yet during the current 'cold snap' and the sun is shining. Oh, and a fair proportion of leave remain on even the deciduous trees.

Four feet of snow here in North London.

I hate this cold weather and I'm depressed because I have pain in my hands which might result in an end to my playing.

Oh no! That's terrible-- sorry to hear it! Do you know what kind of pain it is? Nerve pain, osteoarthritis? Rheumatoid arthritis? If you feel like it, let me know and I'll be glad to see if I know of anything that might help.

Hello daring tripod. FF has made a very good job of these boards and Ihope you enjoy talking to people and make a lot of friends. there areseveral posters here fromKent/SE London so you will find several neighbours. CHISLEHURST [spelling] is quite near me but I don't live there. I have trouble with the small print, otherwise all is fine. Which composers do you particularly like? Allfor now, salymap

I'm not sure, its just the aches. It could (according to my partner) be the cold weather. I'm going to be having a break from playing soon, so maybe by next year I may be OK again. It's probably just extreme old age. I keep finding piles of dead brain cells all over the place.

I took 600mg of Asprin about 1 hour ago and it feels a bit better.

Hm. Here are some Youtube videos on how to give yourself a therapeutic hand massage:

http://HealingHandsSchool.comhttp://HealingHandsSchool.blogspot.comhttp://TipsforHealers.blogspot.comA three minute video about how to massage hands in order...

At the very least, a pocket warmer would be soothing...here's a bunch of inexpensive ones on Amazon:

                              Oh well--hope that helps!

Cellini, very sorry to hear about your hands.

Four feet of snow? No kidding?

Here in Dundee today we've had quite a lot of snow and - surprisingly - hail. Or as it's called in Latin, "Ave".

We've also had intermittent thunder and lightning which started at 3.00 am. Like the Spanish Inquisition, it was not expected. Has anyone here come across these weather conditions?
