'Twas the thieving Welsh S_A, after a grey and gloomy start it was suddenly blue sky and sun and the temperature reached just below 8° by 3.30pm. Sorry!
I noticed today three trees covered in white blossom (Winter Cherry?) that were not in bloom two days ago and this afternoon - the sound of lawnmowers and strimmers from far and wide. So, Spring has Sprung and I have had (still have) the windows open! Bound to be cold and frosty tonight though as so clear and a beautiful sunset now developing over the hill.

Best wishes to marthe for her husband's speedy recovery and to saly for her voice to be restored and of course to ferney - keep taking the liquid gold, whisky is such a good cure for coughs and colds.

As heartwarming a post as I have ever read on t'Forum, that!

Thanks ferns - it made me

You are properly cheering me up, ferney!!

However, 8o has also caught my interest with mention of Stainforth's pork pies! Should be trying to get hold of same? (ammy will testify to the importance of the pork pie...)

I agree with Cali about the importance of the pork products but I think you need to look out for Stanforth's rather than Stainforth's on t'net

I have just seen Brummie Simon's forecast.

He predicts just one more sunny day - tomorrow - followed by a slide into wettish weather, but on the mild side apart from Scotland, lasting until early next week, when I'm afraid we will all be back to cold easterlies, with low rainfall amounts, which are expected to last through for most of the remainder of the month.

Thanks for that dear S_A. I think I would rather not know as still have a very nasty cough which keeps me awake at night. I like a drop of Scotch, but feel it would be difficult to cope with atm.

... sorry to hear that, salymap. There seems to be a lot of it about. We've had sore throats and nasty gunky coughs here - and it has dragged on for more than a week now - very wearisome
