Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Inspired by the blue sky and sun went for a long walk in Barstow Woods above Grassington....glorious....Now 3 hours later wondering if it was such a good idea....feel like I've been hit by a bus....

Thank you mangerton! I did get a card and although the postmark was faint I could make out it said Mount Pleasant, which I think is the main sorting office for central London? So, a bit of a mystery, have narrowed it down to two (No, one of them is NOT Cali!) but the dead cert should be postmarked Warwick not London ..... anyway, I'm not taking any notice of it (although I admit it's quite nice to receive one!) I also got some nice virtual roses from someone on here ....... (No, not Cali! Chiz, chiz)
Really heavy frost overnight then blue sky and sunny until around 2pm, now grey but quite high cloud.

Not sure how others are feeling about this horsemeat fiasco, but although I don't buy processed food or ready meals I really don't fancy eating meat (entirely illogical I know) so have been eating fish and this weekend will be vegetarian fare. Silly really as generally 30% of what I eat is veggie but I'm a strong believer in eating what your body tells you too

Quite mild here and some lovely sunshine too. Up close my small cherry tree has some very promising bulges on the stems and the sparrers are hitting the seed feeders and fat balls like billy-o (whoever she is )

Today my partner and I ventured out into the wide world for the first time since she returned home from hospital. Lovely day: the sun definitely warm when sheltered from the wind - but I still think the ice cream van driver who came round was being a trifle optimistic!

My local weather station says it climbed from 0° to 10.9° but I haven't been outside <cue sad violin music> being confined to sofa under comfy throw with hot and cold running shivers and cough, listened to the R4 Wind in the Willows dramatisation with BBCSO, just about to cook early meal of creamy veggie pasta and then watch The Culture Show on BBC2 (tied in with Dancing on the Edge) about black swing orchestras in Britain in the 20s and 30s. Shall probably land up watching Casualty and go to bed! Not an exciting Saturday is it?
Edit: crossed posted with ferney, so glad your partner is truly on the mend now. Now I really want ice cream to soothe my throat!
Double edit: I think I saw that S_A was logged in earlier

Get better soon Anna. Mahlerei is having a quiet w/e after a four hour op yesterday. Isee S-A has PM'd someone so hope he is okay.

And my back feels that it is breaking in two so will sign out for a bit. CDs later Ithink. Lots tocatch up with.
