Very sorry indeed. I remember seeing her on stage in Brighton and still remember her fabulous diction - she could speak in a low voice yet could be heard clearly at the back of the theatre. Miriam Carlin is another actress with such a superb speaking voice.

          G'day groupies

Warm and sunny here today. Quiet too, without the usual DIY racket from upstairs. Just what a Sunday should be :)

          Best wishes to all.

            Nairobi?
Dull, cloudy but at least no rain or snow here in Berks.
            Have a nice day, everybody.

Nairobi? No chance :) Funnily enough Nairobi can be overcast a lot of the time, even in the hot weather.. They don't have seasons as such, just long and short rainy spells.

Salymap, could this have been "We'll Meet Again"? It was broadcast over here on a local PBS station sometime in the 80s back-to-back with reruns of Poldark. My children were babies at the time so this late-night TV viewing of romance was just the thing as a respite from not-so-young motherhood. I always thought very well of Susanna York and am also sorry to hear of her death.

I first saw her in "Greengage Summer" in 1961 - a Rumer Godden story. Anyone remember that? Kenneth More was in it, plus a very young Jane Asher. A fine actress. RIP indeed.
