Likewise poor S_A's evening scuppered in South East London, but here in the centre, not a thing coming out of the sky...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Indeed, Cali - it stopped snowing here in sarf London almost as soon as it started.

I am totally puzzled by the weather forecasts. Every one is different. I just want to get to the local shops and restock before the snow comes back.

Ice everywhere at the moment. Roads are clear but pavements lethal amnd no, I'm not walking in a busy road, thanks. Yours, slightly grumpy.

What's it doing outside at the moment with you?

            Anyway: good luck! Take care!

It snowed here overnight. There must be oh, fully half an inch on the cars outside. The roads have been well treated and are clear. The pavements still await treatment.

Ah I should change my settings, methinks! I have moved further inland. About half hours drive away from Brighton. Cuckfield, to be precise!!

So you need to be very careful indeed about your trademark trypoes when writing or typing your address these days!

Might get quite the wrong sort of caller, otherwise

There is also Uckfield on the other side of Eastbourne, which stands by the River Uck. The Local Council got so fed up of replacing the oft-and-obviously-graffited road sign, that they eventually decided on a T-shaped sign with "River" on the top line and "Uck" on the lower, with a tiny margin allowing no room for any added letters.

The weather station reports 8.5cm, but they are a higher altitude, we didn't get that much, more like 6cm. The ploughs were here at 7.30am and for once cleared my road and the other side streets, it doesn't seem to be causing any disruption. It's still snowing lightly on and off, very small wet flakes and it's certainly well above freezing.

Almost complete thaw here - last night, the weekend's snow was still piled on my car roof and windscreen... virually nothing left this morning...

Much the same here in SE3, so let's hope it's the same a few miles away at salymap's.

Life's rich pattern, as someone said. Local relis, having dug out car, are bringing me shopping. Downside, Council are cutting back huge trees on verge, men hanging from ropes, etc, and my drive- way completely blocked atm.

Take care on that bike, super tyres or not
