I think you need a little sit-down, Beefy old sport. Have a cuppa, take the weight off your preconceptions....

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I think you're right Cally. I've been over-working - I even thought I read somewhere that Harold Wilson killed Jimi Hendrix in 1970 (or something like that). I'm going to take a relaxing bath now.

I read something similar. But no, it all came down to a crooked accountant... again...

          Take it easy

The Big Freeze 1963 did begin on time- I hope you caught it.

I recorded it as my iPlayer TV is still not working. I have a new contract with someone who will sort it for me but just keep forgetting it.

I watched it, and recognised a few scenes filmed not far from where I was at the time. I think you'll find it interesting. They had proper snowdrifts in those days!

This will make you laugh mangerton. I was thinking about the 1947 hard winter [well, I was only a teenager] as a long time ago, but the 1963 one as RECENT. Then they said it was 50 years ago. Wow.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. That's half a century ago. I remember hearing my parents talking about 1947, sixteen years previously, and of course to me that was ancient history.

When I was a child, people always referred to "the war" like it was a distant past event - I was born two months after the end of the war.

Returning to topic, snow is forecast for the SE and Midlands tomorrow. Official forecasts are predicting temperatures as staying near or below freezing for the next week, except for in the far SW. I'm going to stick my neck out here, and say I reckon that with winds temporarily going around to the south and south west, temperatures across a wide swathe of the south will be above freezing from Monday to Wednesday, and that most lying snow will melt at lower levels.
