Anna, yer inbox is full !! Time for a clearout of all your messages from fans, suitors &c!

Lovely clear starry night here, after a lovely sunset, ideal for the cycle ride home.

Next week looks a bit fearsome though but!

I have a road trip up and down the eastern side of the country as far as Lincoln, am I going to be alright?

I hope S_A is ok - he could answer that question!!

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Had two sets of tennis under the stars - very cold, bracing and totally windless. Mist started to come down.

Yes, Brookmyre writes good stuff, and so of course does Val McDermid.

The Rankin is The Complaints. I've never read him, did not realise he was the creator of Rebus (although this is not a Rebus story) I've never read police/crime novels but I am enjoying the twists and turns in this.

I have just logged in and deleted six marriage proposals and three propositions of a dubious nature, but so far, no new messages. I dare say yours will turn up in the morning
Have watched the Star Gazing programme, I should now go outside, and I may be some time locating Orion and Betelguese - gosh, how scary is it that it's going to explode!

No message from S_A and the promise of snow. Am panicking about the weather as I rashly got rid of winter coats and boots some time ago. However little jackets not enough in snow and local cozes are ill.Ah well, porridge for everymeal is very healthy

Good luck to Mahlerei who has pre eye-op check today. I hopethey do the op soon and it goes well, my friend.

I found Val Mcdermid a tad repetitive during her middle period but she's back on stonking form these days

Are you feeling more energetic now since your stint (stent?) in LGI, eighth?

Thanks, Um, not particularly, got a few other health things going on (being a chain smoker being one)....but I have got in the workshop a bit lately so throwing large lumps of clay about will help both muscles and mind....(esp now all that Xmas/December stuff out of the way)....

According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

Saly, did you think with global warming it was OK to ditch your Winter coats and boots? Have you thought about stocking up via internet shopping? (Tesco or Asda are cheapest re delivery costs) Thanks for update on Mahlerei - hoping it goes well for him and bws to eights as well.

Giving up nicotine is so hard, friend has just relapsed after being 35 days without, he said the chewing gum burnt his mouth and the tablets made him terribly nauseous, he's a bus driver so it's a bit different from an office situation where you can run to the loo anytime.

Met Office now issued a yellow cold weather alert for Saturday and Sunday and seem pretty confident (70%) there will be snow, Wales, Mids, East Coast and SE England. This morning was thick mist, hasn't cleared but not too cold just gloomy.
