Amazingly woke up this morning to find more snow - not a lot but very pleasant for a walk this morning with Sibelius 2

Glorious sunshine here. A real pick-me-up after all the rain.

Hope it doesn't get any worse anton. Love Sibelius 2, although [name drop] MS stood up on the RAH platform after a rehearsal of no 2 and gave me a little lecture on how the first two symphonies are not true Sib. It's to do with the way they are constructed, 1 and 2 develop in the usualway, the others aremore like zigsaw puzzles.IF I got it right .

If you have names to drop like this one then drop them I say! I once sat opposite Frank Carson on a train - hardly the same is it?! Sibelius 2 may not be Sibelius but it's fine by me!

I never collected autographs as it would have been a bit embarrassing. BUT I kept letters addressed to me that
answered my request to the composer for names of people, to be sent copies of a new work by them. I suppose I should burn them
soon but Icouldn't throw them away when we were all made redundant at Augener/Galliard. A sad time.

I once sat in the same row as Magdalena Kozena at Symphony Hall - and I once queued behind Nigel Kennedy at a cashpoint. And, as if that's not enough, I got Jeff Astle's autograph the year West Brom won the FA Cup.
