I hope you enjoyed the Chinese.

Lovely day in Dundee today, but cold. Finished work at 8 , had to scrape car windows, then into town with some colleagues to see the Christmas lights which were switched on tonight. A bit early, but that's life nowadays. Quite a good fireworks display at the end, which I reckon probably put a tenner on to my council tax. (cries of "Scrooge, humbug, etc"). Couple of drinks and home by bus. For the avoidance of doubt, the car was dropped off at home on the way into town.

Not much chance of dryness here, just looked at met office and they have amber rain warning for Devon, Cornwall and S. Wales and it seems it'll reach a peak around 9pm. However, it seems London won't get much rain. It's raining now, lightly, and only 6.1° The blackbirds and thrushes are feasting on the windfalls. I shall shortly go and marinate ingredients for tonight's dinner - what did you have from Chinese takeaway this time Cali?
I don't think it's too early for Christmas lights mangerton, it's just over 4 weeks until Christmas <horror emoticon> and it does make people feel more cheerful amidst all the gloomy weather and gloomy news

One of our members is now shivering there poor old chap

Creature of habit, me: delicious slices of barbecue pork with noodles and onions, preceded by sesame prawn toast for which I have a distinct weakness...

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Oh thanks! I was reasonably happy today until I watched that video of what is to come!
Nothing for it but to batten down hatches, stay in and watch The Killing! (Assuming the electricity doesn't go off .....)

It's a strange fact that people always choose the same thing off a takeaway menu, I know I always go for the duck with spring onions and ginger yet, we'd never do that in a restaurant would we? Why is that?

I lived in Hastings ages ago, but only for a short while, 18 months, but looking at that forecast it's warmer there than it is here!

A silver day in the Pennines: frost early this morning and an eerie mist all day, but no rain, not much of a breeze and quite mild for late November. Best wishes to everyone caught in the blizzards and downpours.

Similar here to the east of the Pennines, a still misty day, damp and bitterly cold. But the rain is just starting...

We have it so easy here, compared to you poor folk in the south-west.

Shriek! Just seen the Met Office page ..... although I think it won't hit first thing so I can get out early? Don't much care what it does after that, I shall be doing an Ottolenghi from my new book
It was a perfect day here, blue sky, sunny, until just now, rain clouds rolled in and sudden darkness descending ....
Thanks Anna! Yes, we enjoyed the usual turkey fest...and sunny, warmish weather. I was offline for a few days because of getting the house ready for guests, shopping etc. I hope the wind and rain hasn't been too dire where you are. BBC News (only just caught up) shows flooding in some areas. I hope you, saly, and other FoR friends are safe.
