I have the blooming cough. It seems to go on and on...... I did try a large whisky a few days ago but it seemed not to help even though it is a rather nice single malt.
Are you better? Has the cough gone? How long does it last?
It's no use trying to see the doctor round here; they do only post-mortems. It seems.

Be that as it may, everyone spare a thought for our good friend marthe on Rhode Island. I haven't seen this reported anywhere yet, but from all appearances, next Monday and Tuesday a hurricane makes its way up the eastern seaboard just to the east of where she resides, and from the predictions I've just seen Rhode Island will get well and truly clipped.
Best wishes, marthe, if you happen to be reading this.

I think marthe said she was going on holiday for a couple of weeks?
Having spent yet another evening trying to breathe life into a piece of moribund hardware I've given up and will get a new printer. On-topic, not so grey, drizzly, and colder.

fiddly printers...& the price of ink
but then I thought of french frank's army of tuk-tuks!!
who/what are they anna? tuk bearing mods sounds like a good idea, especially if they do a cup of tea too.
the foggy weather was effectively blotted out today, by construction workers and curtains.... we received a horrible garish colour leaflet, with illustrations of orange skinned children, hanging out with huge construction employees in high viz jckts & helmets, apparently to research whether residents have been inconvenienced/not. where to start as far as inconvenience goes eh......!
edit: 'hanging out' is probably the wrong expression, - more like children following dick whittington ltd up the garden path to the plastic tree bearing concrete pears! ouch my teefLast edited by Guest; 25-10-12, 17:49.
