So it does!!! °°°!! I knew about æãåāàáâä and the other vowels, but not that. Thanks, Flay. I wonder what else I can find.

Natch! It was fine at that quantity - the heat cooks out to some extent... Leaving the flavour yum yum yum (I managed to get a tube of the 'Phare du Cap Bon' harissa I always used to have with couscous in France years ago...). I reduced the amount of tomatoes though - as previously discussed, it was much better

I've always struggled with couscous, I do eat it because it feels somehow, worthy but dull, and I have some genuine barley couscous from Morocco which I bought on a whim, I will try it with harissa to see if it enlivens the monotony of eating birdfood.

By 'coucous' I meant the full coucous plus vegetable stew plus grilled meat (esp: merguez sausages) that form the full meal. A branch f my French family used to live in the 60s in N Africa and were keen on it as a Sunday lunch sometimes

Oh, well that's different, you mean the Full Monty with merguez (which we love), not the boring muesli munching vegetarianism, suffer for your art, serve it plain and empathise with the Third World peasants version of it!

Well it looks like it's going to warm up just a little bit by the weekend, but the predicted chart has completely changed shape this morning, so I think I'll double-ckeck with Brummie Simon at Weatherweb later on, when he comes online - he' still showing yesterday's predictions.

It must've bucketed down here during the night, judging by the puddles. Lovely and sunny now saly, and actually quite warm, so better get to the shops before any showers come along.

And down here, in West Sussex too! Could'nt believe the amount of surface water and at times, the leaves seem to carpet the roads!

Cats and dogs yesterday evening here as well. Today is quite nice but cold wind. My sister is to embark on 3 day tour of Gloucestershire including Westonbirt Arboretum, not sure if leaves have changed colour enough to give a good display. She's also going to Highgrove (ooh, there's Posh!) and Painswick Castle (which I don't know at all) I think/hope the weather will be reasonably kind ? as they will be outdoors for the 3 days.

Got back home at lunchtime. Torrential rain here, as it was all the way from the west coast. I suspect it's rained non-stop here since I left last Friday morning.

Thunderstorms and drenching rain here around evening news time....ventured out to see a Chinese film and was lucky that the heaviest downpours had abated somewhat.

Big puddles all over the Common this morning. Leaves are already spectacular..

Anna, there should be no secrets between us, so I must admit that none of these delights made their way north with me. And anyway, I'm quite good at making mangerton's magnificent flapjacks. I did however return with many photographs, almost all taken on the preserved steam railway.
