It has been raining in the night here but the sun is just appearing. I hope over-eager grass-cutter will be put off by the puddles as my large lawn costs as much as feeding a pet.

Keep a goat or concrete it over before you get old.

The first time I read that, I thought you were suggesting submerging a goat in concrete.

Then I realised what you meant. doh!

No - nightlife in Dundee can get much more exciting than that! But by the time it kicks in Mangerton would be safely tucked up in bed

Sounds like the voice of experience on both counts
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

You mean, the quick way to get an animal sculpture ? From the little I know of goats, it would eat its' way out of the concrete.

Lovely day for laundry and gardening today: warm sunshine, slight breeze. Now the just waning moon has crept from behind the clouds - very Turneresque!

There is, I am told, quite a good night life scene in Dundee. No doubt I shall hear some lurid tales tomorrow.

However, now that I have reached the age of discretion, and as flossie has correctly pointed out, I was safely tucked up in bed with a good book.

Ever read "Secret History" by Donna Tartt?

                              (It's very good actually)

Haven't heard of that, though I've sometimes had a roll in bed with a little honey for breakfast.
