Yes, it was 14.7 yesterday, today is 8.1 but feeling colder due to wind chill. I can't agree about slow foliation, all seems normal, but then our water levels were never critical and no hosepipe ban. I read today that The Lords Ag & Fish committee are suggesting big hikes in water bills to encourage people to use less and conserve supplies ..... well, that's fine if everyone in the country had a water meter I guess but how the logic of Thames Water selling off reservoirs fits into the grand scheme of things I have no idea because building houses means more people which means more water is required which means ...... more reservoirs are required!

Of interest to S_A and other Thames Water customers, it seems they have been selling off reservoirs for some years, this was in The Telegraph couple of days ago

The Pennines have been quite warm over the past few days: no rain since Monday, and plenty of sunshine. The start to Star Wars Day ("May the Fourth be with you") is light grey and there isn't a break anywhere in the cloud. Doesn't look like there's any rain in them, though (fingers crossed).

yes - well in the drought - remember the drought? The village duck pond dried up and we inherited a pair of ducks, Lola and Leroy, in our garden. In the almost constant rain since their migration they have looked very, very sad and seem to appreciate tables to shelter under. The duck pond is now in flood and they show no sign of going back........
