Hot toddies any good? I make mine with brandy, red wine (Italian is best) and acacia honey. VERY hot in the saucepan. Never needed any excuse except moderately cold weather...

S-A was right as ever. It's a particularly 'orrible day with high winds, driving rain and the bin man missed my rubbish bins.

S-A I hope your "awful lot of rain" makes its way across the Atlantic. We haven't seen a drop in days and it's getting very dry here (the soil, that is.) Meanwhile we're enjoying another sunny, warm day so I shouldn't really be complaining. Though the air is warm, The water is still quite frigid as all the Titanic remembrances remind us. We're situated at 41 deg. N same lat., more or less, as the place she went down.

Today, it got to 12 degrees max, wind 24mph and gusting, squally showers, 6.33 mm rain. Typical April sunshine and showers. Here, for tomorrow, warning of flash flooding, but seeing as we've had our Summer and the fish in the rivers are suffering ........ Bring it on, the rain, we have to think of the environment and wildlife, not us

Thanks marthe and Anna. We had a good family party on Sunday, as it was a better day for the 'workers' so tomorrow is just an ordinary day.

I've been caught in no less than three sudden showers today and it's never seemed so cold in April, but as Anna says we need all this rain and some more.
