salymap - I have had a look at this for you. Local authorities have a duty to collect them if they are on the highway but not from gardens. Many will though move them with rubbish if they are in a sealed plastic bag. She shouldn't touch it but rather use a spade. Some people would bury it but that wouldn't be my preference. I'd want removal. If it stays on the lawn for any length of time, it will smell so it must be moved one way or another. Has she a kindly neighbour who would put it in a bag? - Lat.

Back on topic. Seems a very pleasant morning at the moment, let's hope the rain stays away.

Rainy and grey here with temps rising. Gosh, all this widlife: foxes, cheeky squirrels, one-legged blackbirds! We never see foxes anymore but coyotes are abundant though I've never seen one. We have our own cheeky (grey) squirrels who are, as I type this, sitting in the tree outside my window. They, and the resident Cedar Waxwings duke it out over who gets the crusts of stale bread we put out. During the warmer weather, skunks, bats, and racoons visit our garden.

Caliban, some wildlife are desirable and some not! Racoons helping themselves to the contents of the cats' food dish in the kitchen was one thing; finding them on the sofa in the living room quite another! Randy and Randette were having quite a good time until we caught them in the act (hope I don't get banned for posting this)!

Saly, what happened with the dead fox in the end? I think here we could have the local Animal Control deal with the situation. They, the local bird sanctuary, and the local animal shelter are very good at sorting out this sort of thing. We're very grateful to the local shelter for taking care of one of our cats in a sensitive manner after he had been hit by a car.
