"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
Last time I was in Paris was for a 3 day break, for my birthday. Being April I thought I would pack quite light clothes, I still have the jacket I bought for the occasion. Wrong! It was bitterly cold, snowy and sleety. I had to buy a waterproof and a thick jumper! But, as Ammy says, the food, the wine, the patisserie, makes up for it. And I expect full and frank disclosures of the menus please!
Thanks Anna, how much more can the radiators take, or my bank account? Rads seem to have been on 24/7 for ages now.
Saly, I started off the Winter in credit with Swalec, I'm hoping that as it has on average been milder than past Winters I can be justified in having heating on and still possibly remain in credit or only slightly in debit. This is a terribly difficult place to heat effectively, being sprawling open plan.
Meanwhile, I've just been out to the bins and it's much colder than a few hours ago as Caliban said. Really frosty and cold. long johns as well as a vest are needed in Paris

The bins? Are you driving the wagon or hoiking the bins, salymap?
She'll doing anything for a mug of hot tea and a bacon roll
I don't mind cold and sunny, can't stand cold and murky. Today we have murky
Cold murk here today as well, didn't get above 0.8 and now (16:40) it's already dropped down to -0.5 which is worryingly early plus Met Office changed forecast and says we are to have snow here tomorriow evening and Friday Of course, if you look at The Mail online it appears we are all doomed with temperatures of minus 13 and the Army will have to be brought in to cope!
Just VERY close to being knocked unconscious on my back garden steps....landed on my back with my neck hitting step edge....very lucky no cuts and not much bruising probably....right elbow took most of the energy....but i'm fine....
