Well, here in North Liverpool it was all green at 1100, all white by 1300, and now rather wet, cold and messy...
Birds were panicking before their afternoon feed, we had to do a deal of wall- and lawn- scraping; and then they poured in, the Pigeons narrowly missed by our usual Sparrowhawk. The Squirrels had to share the kitchen yard wall with the Blackbirds. But by dusk the garden was left to the Magpies, Crows and Pheasants once again. Like a scene from "What to Look for in Winter".

Mornin' all - bit nippy down here, but not disagreeable. A change from the deluge.

it has been quite pleasant here until about 10 minutes ago, but it is now dark and means trouble I think.

Looks like a white Christmas is virtually ruled out this year - in the south, at any rate...

Brrr...cold here in southern New England! A few snow flakes were seen to be flying around this morning. Now it's crystal clear and well below freezing. Two planets are shining brightly in the night sky. Saturn or Jupiter and maybe Venus.

Very cold here but it is winter.

I've just amused myself by reading the first hundred or so posts on this thread from about a year ago. There was such a lovely atmosphere when we found our friends again and we made a new start, thanks to ff and others.

As it's nearly Christmas, I like to wish a happy time to missing posters, Daring Tripod, Cellini, Euda and Sigolene and hope you are fit and well. Best wishes, and good health, from salymap

S-A #2979: Thanks for the weather report! No need for me to listen to the local report when I've got S-A to keep me informed!! I shouldn't complain about cold weather in December, but I'm not acclimated yet. One of my Christmas presents is supposed to be a new pair of Haflinger wool clogs to keep my toes warm in our cold house!

saly #2980: Thank you for the glimpse back to last year. I, too, hope that all is well with missing or former posters, especially my compatriots Sigolene and Schop/Euda/Cavatina. I add my good wishes to saly's.

Nice and bright here today, and I think one pair of socks is probably enough...this year's boots standing up well.

Will try to get down to the water while the short day lasts.

Cloudy, damp day here. I expect some rain is moving in. Time to make some apricot/orange/walnut cake!
